Having read somewhere that Aboriginal languages often use the same word for music and laughter, I made this brief musical celebration of Uluru a joyful utterance in the spirit of healing and reconciliation.

Laughing Rock, like much of my music, is in the form of a maninya, or Australian dance-chant, insistently rhythmic and overtly cross-cultural. It was commissioned by Belinda Webster for the cellist David Pereira.
